Over the years Deathstroke and Deadshot have developed quite the savage rivalry. The two premier assassins have clashed numerous times in the pages of Deathstroke the Hunted (1991), Secret Six (2008), New Suicide Squad (2014), and most recently a flashback tale in Tom King's Batman (2016). Deadshot's profile has quite risen sharply since the mid-2000s but in the mid-1980s, unlike the breakout character, Deathstroke, Deadshot was more of a bit player as evidenced by garnering only a half-page entry in 1985's Who's Who #VI (6).
